YAfter viewing the Youtube in the lesson plan for this class (Reading 7545) I am more than convienced students should have the opportunity to learn and use the latest in technology that can be provided. I have become aware that some other countries are more advanced in technology than the United States and are producting more honor students than the population of students who graduate from schools in the U. S. In order to keep our youth interested in the subject matter, up to date, creative, expanded mentally and productive we as teachers have an obligation to have the knowledge and use the latest technology available in the classroom. I have devised a lesson plan below using the Youtube for a social studies class. My expectations and and comments are below the Youtube presentation below this message.

BrI believe that by using the Youtube in gathering the data the students are viewing the real time facts about the subject being studied. I think it creates more interest because the student is activitly engaged in gathering and editing the information he/she is to present. I strongly believe as a licensed teacher that it is necessary to stay abreast of technology and implement it into todays classroom, because the students have been exposed to this type technology from early childhood. They would loose interest if the technology could not or would not be used with todays technologically advanced youth.
The students are to view the video..., make comments about what they learned from viewing the video in regards to the history of the Grand Canyon, life, wildlife, and interesting facts and findings associated with the history of the canyon. The students will do research on other areas of interest in the United States that involve discoveries of historic interest. I will give a list of places they are to research;each student will choose the place he/she is interested in from the list.
I will assess the student on how well the paper is put together gramatically as well as the accuracy of the research. The students will be given a rubric to follow. The student will transmit his/her information with a youtube link and a draft to my e-mail address: bledbttr@memphis.edu

Mini Lesson Plan
After exploring different ways teachers are using blogs, I think my favorite 4 would be a show and tell session of facts learned from a lesson plan, or a diary of feedback on the lesson plan. I also think it is a great way for teachers to post the lesson plan, step by step, and get feedback from the students on the facts presented. I think it is a great informational tool for the classmates to learn from each other or seek information about things they are not clear on.
As a social studies teacher, I would post pictures to a lesson plan, like the area being studied, the people involved in the lesson plan and ask students to comment on facts they have learned from the visual interaction in the lesson plan of study. I think it would be a great way of interacting and bringing out thought patterns.
